To disable a malfunctioning hard drive and clear a persistent HDD error code (such as C-D010) on a Konica Minolta bizhub C224, C364, or C554, you must access Service Mode. Turn the copier off and back on while holding down the physical Utility/Counter key until the “Service Mode” button appears. Enter your technical service password, then navigate to System 2 ->HDD and change the setting from Installed to Not Installed (or Off). To try and fix the drive before disabling it, go instead to State Confirmation -> Memory/HDD Adj. -> HDD Format and run a logical format. Tap END to exit.
