DRUM ERROR UNIT K - KONICA C220
A persistent “Drum Unit K” error on a Konica Minolta bizhub C220 typically points to a dirty electrical contact, a spent chip, or a physical hardware failure. Start by opening the front cover, pulling down the inner release levers, and carefully sliding the black (K) drum unit out. Inspect the gold-plated electrical contact points on the back of the drum and inside the machine; wipe them with a dry, lint-free cloth to remove any stray toner dust.
If the unit is brand new, the small electronic reset chip on the front may be misaligned or defective. If the drum has exceeded its life cycle, it must be replaced with a new unit. Reinsert the drum firmly until it clicks, close the cover, and restart the copier to reset the error code.
