To set black-and-white as the permanent default for copy jobs on a Konica Minolta bizhub C224, press the physical Menu key and tap Copy on the touch screen. Change the color selection from Auto Color to Black. Next, press the Menu key again, navigate to Utility -> User Settings-> Copier Settings, and select Default Copy Settings. Tap the Current Setting button to capture your active black-and-white preference, then press OK to save. The copier will now automatically load in black-and-white mode every time it boots up.
